TRUTH.

I have a challenge for everyone out there that is reading this blog. It will be hard, and you will want to give up on it after a while, probably after like 2 seconds. Try telling the truth. Go a whole day and don't tell a single lie. See if you can do it. I am going to try and do it tomorrow; I'm not going to lie to anyone, and I will be up front and honest with them. I don't think we should lie to people to make them like us. You shouldn't feel like you can't be your true self around someone because you're afraid of what they might think. Who cares what anyone else thinks?? (A lot of people do, actually. I used to.) Well, if you aren't your true self around people, you're not only lying to them, you are lying to yourself. Why do that? Just to impress someone? No, you shouldn't feel like you have to. If someone is your friend, they will accept you for who you are. If they don't, they weren't truly your friend to begin with. They liked you for what they saw and not what was really underneath the surface. Now if there are mean people out there who dislike you, they are probably going to dislike you no matter what. So why put on an act for them? Of all people, they should not be ones that you care about pleasing. Be straight-forward around them and don't put up a facade. Just tell it like it is and be yourself. Never be anything else. So, basically this blog included two things: telling the truth & being yourself. I never realized how they kind of tied into one another. Did you?..

Friends

My friends mean the world to me. I honestly have NO IDEA what I would do without them in my life. Without my friends, my life would lack many things: extreme laughter, great happiness, fond memories, hilarious pictures, multiple inside jokes, crazy adventures, meaningful talks, tiring sleepovers, movie findings, music interests.. I'm sure there are many more things, but those are just the few that popped into my head at the moment. There are so many things that I have experienced that never would have happened if not for the friends I had and have. We all grow apart from some friends over time, but the memories will last forever whether the relationship does or not. You can't take back the things that happened, and in my opinion, that is a very good thing. I wouldn't be the person I am today if not for what I have gone through with the people in my life. Sure, friends fight, but they also come together at tough times. Friends make each other cry sometimes, but they also make one another laugh until they can't breathe. There will be bad times with your friends, I'm not going to lie. But never forget the good times. Don't let those moments slip away unnoticed. Keep those memories stored in your mind to bring up whenever you need a good laugh. It's a guaranteed way to lift up your spirits. Don't take your friends for granted. They are precious gifts meant to be kept close to our hearts forever.
True friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.

School.

What is your first thought when I say: a gated place, uniforms, nasty meals, work, security guards, and 8 hours of pure torture. Jail??? No. School??? Yup. School should be a friendly environment where you can learn useful information that will help you later on in life while also making lifelong friends along the way. Hmm, that isn't exactly how I would describe our school. I would say it is more of a place where you are forced to go and repeat the same exact thing everyday while being tortured by evil people who hate your guts. Our school sucks!!! No offense. We do have some upsides, I'm sure. I just can't think of any at the moment... Teachers don't really care about your education anymore; they just need the job and money that comes with it (the little bit that does). Don't think I hate teachers or anything; my mom is one, but she does her job. Unlike most. Which is sad. We should have teachers that want us to succeed and do well in life; not ones that just want us to pass their class and get out of there. Its truly a sad thing. Oh well. We will not be very prepared for college though, may I just say that. Lord help us all.

The weather in Mississippi

Okay, so if you don't already know I live in southern Mississippi. Good ole bipolar-weathered southern Mississippi. I swear, it was like 70 degrees on Christmas day, and then last week the high was like 50 degrees. Explanation, please?!? Oh, and right now outside it's around 80 degrees, clear blue skies, a light breeze. Perfect weather for swimming, tanning, and going to the beach. Too bad it isn't our Spring Break yet :/ meh. Other schools have off (NO FAIR)!! Oh well.. Anyways, yea the weather. It truly is ridiculous. In July, the humidity is ridiculous!! And don't even think about wearing your hair down unless you know you won't see anyone that day. Ugh, and when it rains... Talk about nasty! It gets so dreary, and the lightning and thunder is terrible. Why can't we just get a light shower while the sun sneaks out behind the white, puffy clouds?.. No, not gonna happen (sadly). Or how about continuous days where the sun shines bright but a nice breeze keeps it at a decent temperature to where you don't sweat off half of your body weight?.. Yea, that would be quite nice. Oh well, you can't change the weather...or can you? That is the question. (Sorry, starting Hamlet in English 3 lol)

Inventions.

How do people come up with some things? How on earth did they ever think of some of this stuff??... My friend and I were talking about things earlier, and we were trying to figure out how things came to be or how someone ever thought to create them. Okay, electricity.. Some guy stood outside in a storm, got electrocuted, BAM electricity.. How??? Like what did he do once he got electrocuted?.. Did he somehow harness that power and put it in a box to save and use? I don't understand. I don't think I ever will. Also, time. Who ever decided, "Hey, I think we should make something called a year and it should have 365 things in it that we should call days which would have 24 things in it called hours with 60 things in each of those called minutes and 60 things in that which would be called seconds.." Ummm, how do you invent that?? Or these math equations..OMG!! Why?? Who would sit there and be like, "I think I will invent a number called Pi and it will be 3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841971693993751058209749445923078164062862089986280348253421170679etc.." Can you say POINTLESS?! Yea, it is. Well, I just thought I would state my opinion on this. I want to invent something pointless and become a millionaire. Yup, I'm gonna do it! :)

Time..ticking away ever so quickly

Oh, how true this quote is.. You don't realize how quickly time passes by until you are going through life, looking through old memoirs, noticing how your life has just gone by in a flash. One second you are dancing around in the living room, standing on top of your daddy's feet. The next second you are making plans for your high school junior prom. One minute you are blowing out the four candles on your Barbie birthday cake. The next minute you are planning your "oh-so-epic" sweet sixteen party. One day you are telling your kindergarten teacher that you want to be an astronaut when you grow up. The next day you are filling out applications to work at the local McDonald's. We all need to take each day as it comes, and treasure the sweet moments in life. They go by so fast, and we all need to quit wishing our lives away. Quit saying, "Ugh, I wish this day was over already" or "Man, I wish it was Friday already". Because you never know when your time could be up. Treasure EVERY moment...

Judging.

If you saw a skinny guy walking outside of the library with a comic book in his hands and a pair of glasses on his face, what would be your first thought? "Wow, that boy is a geek/nerd/loser/dork." That is what popped into your head when you read that, wasn't it? Yea, don't lie. I know it was. We all think of things like that, and we should all be ashamed. I will admit that it is pretty hard not to judge. You can judge in a nice way, but most people judge in the unkind manner. Example of nice judging: "That new haircut you got really looks good on you. It really makes people notice your eyes. I love it!" Example of mean judging: "Oh my gosh, that haircut makes your face look freaking fat. It does nothing to enhance your features; not that much could be done to help those anyways." Have you ever said or thought anything like that? I'm pretty sure that we all have judged someone in that way before. So next time you are about to judge someone, think about this: how would I feel if someone said something like that to me? It would hurt... So be nice! :D (or at least try to be)

Him..

I don't think he will ever realize how much he truly means to me. Of course I tell him everyday, but I don't know how to express with words the deep feelings that I have for him. He makes me laugh when no one else can and never fails to bring a smile to my face. He always treats me right and would never do anything if he thought it would hurt me. I never thought I could feel like this about someone at such a young age (16), but it happened. And I never want this feeling to end. Sure, we have our arguments.. What couple doesn't? We always seem to work things out though, and the situations normally bring us even closer than we were before. He knows things about me that I have never told anyone else; I trust him, and he trusts me. I honestly think we will last, and I sure hope we do.. Because when I picture my future, he's the first thing that I see. I don't want to imagine being without him, and I hope I never have to experience that.. Even though he is my first boyfriend, my first kiss, my first love...I don't care to experience any of that stuff with another person. He makes me happier than I have ever been, and I want it to stay that way. I love him. It's just that simple and that complicated. <3

Where words fail, music speaks

Music is a wonderful thing. If you disagree.....well, you must be kind of insane (no offense). Music is a way for people to express themselves and let others know how they feel about certain things. Music can bring upon many different emotions: happiness, grief, anger, etc. Whenever you feel down or depressed, do you turn on that certain type of music that just makes everything better? Whenever you are happy and feel like jumping around, do you flip to that upbeat dance song that makes you feel like a pop-star? How about when you just don't know what you feel like and you just turn on the radio and discover a new favorite song that makes you all happy inside? Do you get those feelings whenever you listen to music? I know I do. It always allows me to let my stress out and just renew my emotions to however I want to feel. Life without music....well, it would be dull and depressing. "Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without." ~Confucius
